About HESCO

HESCO, which stands for Hyderabad Electric Supply Company, was established as part of the revamping of the WAPDA power sector in April 1998. The revamping initiative led to the formation of twelve corporate entities, including eight Distribution Companies (DISCOs), one National Transmission and Distribution Company (NTDC), and three Generation Companies (GENCOs). Another GENCO has since been established. All of these entities were incorporated under the Companies Ordinance 1984.

The company was incorporated on April 23, 1998, and obtained a certificate for the commencement of business on July 1, 1998, from NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority) under section 146(2) of the Companies Ordinance 1984.
