No Load-Shedding for FESCO Consumers During Ramadan

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company has announced that it will not carry out any load management on 1,248 feeders during Sehr, Iftar, and Taraweeh. This is good news for electricity consumers who will be observing the holy month of Ramazan and the upcoming summer season.

The FESCO administration has finalized a comprehensive strategy to ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout the region.

Establishment of Special Desks/Control Rooms

The Fesco administration has established a special desk/control room in all eight districts of the region, including Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, and Chiniot. These desks will monitor the uninterrupted electricity supply during the month of Ramazan, and they will be operational 24 hours a day.

The monitoring cells established at FESCO Headquarters and all five circles will be personally monitored by Chief Executive FESCO Engr Bashir Ahmed and General Manager Operations Rana Ayub.

Monitoring the Transmission of Electricity

The special control room has assigned duties to various officers to monitor the smooth transmission of electricity during Sehar, Iftar, and Taraweeh. Officers of the Chief Engineer level will monitor the operational activities as monitors of these circles for immediate redressal of any emergency and consumer complaints.

The Fesco staff has been instructed to deal with the consumers in a friendly manner and take steps to solve their problems immediately in the spirit of service.

Efforts to Ensure Uninterrupted Power Supply

Chairman FESCO Board of Directors (BODs) Malik Tahsin Awan has said that no effort will be spared to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers during Sehr, Iftar, and Taraweeh prayers in Ramazan so that consumers can perform their prayers with humility in this holy month. He added that individual consumers’ complaints will also be resolved immediately.

Maintenance and Repairing Programmes

Before the arrival of summer and the month of fasting, a special maintenance and repair program for the operation system was started throughout the FESCO region, which was completed by March 15.

During this period, 17910 LT bus bars were ratified and fixed while load balancing of more than 4,000 distribution transformers was done. Similarly, 181 two-phase transformers of various capacities have been replaced. During this special maintenance program, corroded HT jumpers of 11KV feeders were also replaced.

Availability of FESCO Transformers

There are 247 emergency transformer trolleys available across the region, and more than 4,000 de-fitting legs of distribution transformers have been installed and replaced. The FESCO Transformer Reclamation Workshop (TRW) has thousands of transformers that were repaired and shipped to stores in eight districts across the region.

There are 522 reclaimed transformers of different capacities and 365 new transformers available in various FESCO stores, which could be replaced in any emergency.

Shutdown of Feeders

In view of unavoidable circumstances, the electricity load shedding will be given on any feeder in the Holy month of Ramazan only from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. However, the consumers of the respective feeders will be informed about this shutdown in advance through SMS and media. Fesco stores and subdivisions are stocked with all types of materials and safety equipment.

It is essential to note that strict action will be initiated against officials showing a lethargic attitude.
